One of Trump’s very first actions after the election was to hand-pick two unelected billionaires — Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy — to drastically cut federal government spending, and give them more opportunities to enrich themselves.

They have already proposed cutting $2 trillion in government spending — with everything from veterans’ medical care, Pell Grants, Head Start, and funding for the National Institute of Health on the chopping block.

And despite promises made to working class voters on the campaign trail, Musk, Ramaswamy, and Republicans have made it clear that Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid are in their sights as well.

The good news? Most of the proposed cuts would need to pass through Congress. And with Republicans holding a razor thin majority in the House, Speaker Johnson can’t afford any defections. This gives us a real opportunity to stop these cuts like these (or worse) in their tracks — but only if enough of us speak out and make our voices heard.
