Dear Mayor Adams —

New York City has always welcomed immigrants and it’s made us the city we are today.

At a time when GOP extremists are using hate and fear to divide us, we expect our Democratic leaders to focus on real solutions that will help families get on their feet.

Immigrants are the backbone of our country, and we won’t accept the scapegoating and demonizing of asylum seekers who only want a better future for their families.

We urge you to stop the finger-pointing and pursue compassionate solutions that allow all people, regardless of immigration status, to access stable work, safe housing, and critical legal services.
