Dear Senator Manchin,
As a proud West Virginian, we hope you will hear our plea and respond with action. Working people, like us, need recovery, and it is time you vote to pass comprehensive legislation for jobs and care nationwide.
With all eyes on West Virginia, it’s time for us to show folks that we’re serious about protecting democracy, bringing good jobs and quality care to our communities. Bold legislation is needed to bolster the backbone of local communities and economies can recover--and now.
We need care and relief, like childcare for working families, paid family leave, the right to unionize, a $15 minimum wage, and so many other potentially huge pieces of legislation that sit with the Senate. We also need to abolish the filibuster. A Jim Crow relic should have no bearing on the urgent legislation the people of West Virginia and our nation need. You have supported past efforts to reform this unfair senate policy, and we are calling on you to take action to get legislation to the floor for debate and passage.

We are in a critical moment in time with Democrats holding the majority in all three branches of government, to deliver big for working people. We’ve seen throughout the COVID-19 pandemic that the American people need help, and are counting on the Democrats to go bold for us. We are counting on you to deliver our chance at recovery.
